Baby photography: 5 Props for 4 Different Newborn Setups

As a newborn photographer, your studio must be stuffed with all sorts of props, like baskets, warps, mini outfits, headbands, toys, etc. How to make the most use of the props you already have? How to get creative setups with the same props? Here comes the answer.

In this article, we will show two pop-up newborn props and the creative setups with simple accessories.

Working with babies is not an easy job, especially newborns. In order to gain a better performance, here are some tips for your cake smash.

Tip 1: Arrange the shooting time when the baby rests well so that they will be energetic and patient during the whole process.

Tip 2: Make sure there is an assistant to stand by to assure the safety of the babies. Safety is always the top priority in baby photography.

Tip 3: Prepare a cozy and warm environment for the babies. They are more likely to get cold and feel uncomfortable during the photo shooting. 

Tip4: Prepare some white noise to calm down the baby. Babies are rather sensitive to strangers. White noise helps the baby to feel safe and easy to sleep.

Setup 01

Step 1: Spread the white faux fur rug on the floor.

Step 2: Place the wooden stool in the middle.

Step 3: Put the artificial sunflowers casually behind the stool.

Step 4: Make a balance with the straw bunny on the front corner.

Setup 02

Step 1: Spread the Boho Jute area rug on the floor.

Step 2: Place the wooden stool in the middle.

Step 3: Put the straw bunny on the wooden dowel rods behind the stool.

Step 4: Make a balance with the artificial sunflowers on the front corner.

Step 3: Put the artificial sunflowers casually behind the bowl.
